Find wallpaper that looks like a picture you love
A bunch of peonies, a tiled floor in Lisbon, a Greek key border, a scarf, a painting: photograph anything with colours and a pattern you like, and find wallpaper with the same feel.
Find wallpaper that looks like this · Flowers, tiles, fabric, a painting, a pattern from holiday. Colour leads, then pattern.

How it works
- Photograph or upload the wallpaper, sample or picture you like.
- Crop to the pattern, or search the whole photo.
- Browse the closest designs, see why each matches, and follow the link to its source.
Tips for a good match
- Crop to the colours and shapes you want on your wall, not the whole scene.
- Busy photo? Use a tighter crop so one pattern dominates.
- Love the motif but not the colour? Switch on “ignore colour”.
- Use the colour filter to keep results within your palette.
Questions
- How does matching a flower to a wallpaper work?
- The search compares the colours, texture and pattern structure of your crop with every design in the catalogue and ranks the closest. In this mode colour carries more weight, so results share your palette first and your motif second.
- Can I search with a screenshot or a picture from the web?
- Yes, any image file works. Please only use images you are allowed to use.
- Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
- No. Your photo is decoded and cropped in your browser, and any location data embedded in it is discarded. Only a small numerical description of the crop (colour, texture and edge statistics, about 6 KB) is sent to compare against the catalogue; it cannot be turned back into a picture and is not stored.
- What is in the catalogue?
- Historic wallcoverings from Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum and The Metropolitan Museum of Art, both released under CC0, plus clearly labelled sample listings. Retailer catalogues with prices and links are being added.
- Does it work on my phone?
- Yes. Tap “Take a photo” to use the camera, or upload from your gallery. After the first visit the app opens offline and can search a smaller built-in catalogue; retailer listings and prices need a connection.
